Fans got to hear more Taylor Swiftthe new song from in the second trailer of the film Where the Crawdads sing, based on the best-selling book of the same name. The Grammy winner wrote and recorded the song “Carolina” for the film.

The new trailer also shows fans a bit more about what to expect from the film – and more about star character Kya. The film tells the story of Kya, who grows up alone in the North Carolina swamps and later becomes entangled in a murder mystery.

The singer first teased “Carolina” in the film’s first trailer, which premiered in March. Now we have a bit more information about the dark and spooky song – including new lyrics.

“You didn’t see me here / No, they never saw me here,” Taylor sings ominously between clips of the star Daisy EdgarJones, who plays Kya, trying to make a living on her own before prosecutors, who charge her with murder, seek the death penalty for her. “In the mist, in the clouds/No, you didn’t see me here/I’ll ​​clench my fist, I’ll make it count/There are places I’ll never go/Things that only Carolina will know never.”

Where the Crawdads Sing arrives exclusively in theaters on July 15.
