LINCOLN — On Tuesday at their annual meeting, the Nebraska Rural Radio Association donated $20,000 to the Nebraska Cattlemen Disaster Relief Fund to support beef cattle ranchers as they recover from recent fires.
“We know so many people were affected by the early spring wildfires, both directly and indirectly, and we at the Nebraska Rural Radio Association felt called to help our state’s producers” , said Tim Marshall, CEO of the Nebraska Rural Radio Association. “Through many conversations with the Nebraska Cattlemen, we decided that donating to the Nebraska Cattlemen Disaster Relief Fund was an effective way to help our neighbors in need.”
The deadline for cash donations is Thursday, June 30.
The Nebraska Cattlemen Disaster Relief Fund is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charitable organization. Donations made to the Disaster Relief Fund may be tax deductible – a receipt will be sent when funds are deposited. Donors should consult their tax advisor for the final decision.

“We are grateful for the long-standing partnership between Nebraska Cattlemen and the Nebraska Rural Radio Association,” officials from the Nebraska Cattlemen Disaster Relief Fund said. “Their generosity does not go unnoticed and we look forward to seeing how their donation will support beef cattle producers.
Funds will only be distributed to growers who have suffered property loss or damage in areas where a fire has been reported through the NEMA Watch Center.
Applications will soon be available for those who need to apply for disaster relief, and an announcement will be made when the application period opens. Nebraska Cattlemen membership is not required for prospective applicants to receive relief.

The Nebraska Rural Radio Association is the only radio group in the country that is owned by a cooperative of farmers and ranchers.
